These are two design projects. On the top is a negative space design that only uses four squares each. They portray the words “Give”, “Holy”, and “Rule”. The bottom pieces are word designs of “fractionize” and “dismantle”.
The “SHOT” project was a month-long project starting from font design to a mixed medium 3D structure. On the left are the initial serif design sketches trying to portray the impact of the word “shot”. After deciding on the font, I then used glass to piece together the word in the designed font. I used a beer bottle, as people often associate broken beer bottles with violence, and gun shots can conjure the image of broken glass. Additionally, data shows that 35% of gun violence and accidents occur after alcohol consumption, revealing a bloody connection between the two. For the letter “O”, the effect of a bullet shooting through the neck of the bottle fit perfectly. The “shot” also connects to the cracks of the wall behind it.
