The Student Success Center Staff utilized the academic advising program to create individual plans for each student taking into account their academic goals along with their personal interests and specialized talents.
The Writing Center at Miller is a place where high school writers collaborate. As a student staffed workshop, participants work with each other in an effort to organize ideas, create an outline, develop a thesis or revise a draft.
Tutors are available for students who have difficulty in a specific subject, need organizational help, or desire to extend their learning to higher levels. Peer tutors are trained to work with Miller students in academic areas at all levels.
Study Skills aims to discover and implement strategies that support short and long term academic goals, reduce stress, and increase the joy of learning. Teachers facilitate building skills through practice, experimentation, and self reflection.
Learning is at the heart of every great school and our new library is at the center of Old Main. It is here that great learning, collaborative and independent study, relationship building, and character development all take place.
The Student Success Center records, tracks, and creates learning plans for all students with accommodation needs. Information on diagnoses and accommodations is taken directly from the student’s IEP, ISP, 504, Psychological-Educational Evaluation, or Parent Questionnaire.
