National 4/5 PE looks at the Factors Impacting on Performance ( Mental/ Emotional/Social/Physical) and where an individuals strengths and areas for development lie within these. The course looks at ways to improve performance and how to track and monitor performance development.
National 5 PE is made up of TWO one-off practical performance (50%) and a portfolio which is completed during class time (50%)
National 4 PE is an Added value Unit and a one-off practical performance.
Below is an outline of the activities that National 4/5 pupils will take part in throughout this academic year. Each activity block will focus on different factors and will provide in depth coverage of a particular aspect of the course.
All practical lessons will include practical and theoretical elements that will be used to complete the National 5 portfolio or National 4 Added Value Unit (AVU). Initially all National 4/5 classes will have 4 x practical lessons and 1 x classroom lesson per week. The amount of classroom lessons per week will increase in the lead up to completing the National 5 portfolio or National 4 AVU.
Please note: These activities are subject to change. Please check with the class teacher and keep up to date with Google Classroom for the most up to date information.
Due to the written element equating to 50% of the overall course award, we have outlined below the revision resources that we would encourage pupils to engage with. This will allow them to recap what has been discussed in class and will hopefully prepare them for written unit assessments and portfolio work.
(1) GOOGLE CLASSROOM - your classes Google Classroom will have various pieces of work and homework tasks that have been completed throughout the year.
(2) JOTTERS/NOTES - the class teacher will have given important notes and practice questions over the course of the year. These are an invaluable tool however to fully revise the content it is important to do more than read over them!! Why not try and recomplete a question from class or from the homework tasks?
