Our BGE S1/2 courses aim to provide a broad variety of activities to allow pupils to develop their skills. Each activity focuses on developing their Physical, Mental, Social and Emotional wellbeing whilst providing pupils with an enjoyable learning experience.
Below is an outline of the activities that we will aim to offer over the course of the academic year. Each activity will last for a total of 4 or 5 weeks.
Please note: These activities are subject to change. Please check with the class teacher and keep up to date with Google Classroom for the most up to date information.
During each activity block there will be specific 'benchmarks' that are discussed and developed alongside the relevant skills of that activity. These benchmarks may appear in more than one activity and will be discussed over the course of the year by the class teacher.
These benchmarks will also appear in end of block 'Self Evaluation Forms' that are completed on Google Classroom.
Each pupil is assessed at the end of each activity block against the criteria below. This 'grade' will be shared with the pupil via Google Mail.
Pupils will also be assigned a homework task that will ask them to reflect on their strengths and areas for development within that activity. This will be uploaded onto Google Classroom during the final week of the activity block. Parents/carers can keep up to date with when homework is set by viewing the activity outline above.
Pupils can receive the Google Classroom code from their teacher to access their classroom.
At the end of S2 pupils will make subject choices. In the PE department pupils will continue to receive 2 periods of PE each week however can also select S3 National 4 PE that will lead onto National 5 PE in S4.
