Building and Construction Technology 1 is a second year course (recommended for grade 10-12) that teaches students the basic knowledge & skills that are related to the Construction Industry. Students are exposed to various trades (masonry, tile setter (hollow-block), carpentry, welding, etc.) depending on the projects selected for the year. In addition, students have the option to participate in the Career Connections program sponsored by the Hawaii Carpenters Apprenticeship and Training Fund. Upon completion of the Career Connections program, students will receive a certificate and could be granted an opportunity to join the Carpenters Apprenticeship program. This course completes the Building and Construction Technology Program of Study.
