❏ Make final visits/tours to schools/programs to which you are applying
❏ Research scholarships and pay attention to scholarship bulletins made available through SchooLinks
❏ Use the Applying to College Checklist and the counseling “how-to” videos to guide you through the application process.
❏ Ask teachers for letters of recommendation and check that they are completed through SchooLinks
❏ Fill out and turn in the “student profile sheet” and “parent brag sheet” to the Counseling Office
❏ Pay attention to college deadlines and complete college essays. Pay attention to Early Decision, Early Action, and Scholarship consideration dates.

❏ Ask your counselor about fee-waivers for applications/ACT
❏ In December, fill out the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ to be eligible for federally funded grants, loans, and work study. Keep an eye out for the FAFSA meeting held at Milford HS in early December.
❏ Pay attention to SchooLinks updates about local, regional, and national scholarship opportunities.
❏ Sit down with all college offer letters, scholarship letters, and final financial aid awards to determine the actual costs of attending each college. Sticker cost is not actual cost!
❏ Attend IFS Fair at Milford HS to explore potential careers and majors.
❏ Confirm housing arrangements with your selected school
❏ Inform the school you choose to attend as well as the schools you are not after you have made a final decision. May 1st is the deadline to inform most schools of your final choices.
❏ Organize, pack, and plan! Attend all student orientations to get the most out of registration and your first year.
