Students are permitted to participate in a work study during their junior and senior years. Work Study is an opportunity to open up additional time during the school day to devote to a work experience - part-time job, internship, job shadowing, etc. Students will complete an application signed by the student, guardian, work/ experience supervisor, and Milford work study coordinator. For each semester, one bell of work study is the equivalent of 60 hours of work. Students will be required to submit pay stubs or a log of hours signed by their supervisor. Students will also independently complete a work readiness curriculum and a final validation form - the OhioMeansJobs Readiness Form.
*Juniors are required to have a recommendation from their counselor or principal in order to participate. Seniors need only to submit the required work study application.
Email Mrs. Emmons at emmons_e@milfordschools.org to talk about internships, job shadowing, and other field experiences.
Milford students are permitted to have two job shadowing days per year. These job shadowing days are similar to college visit days. Students will visit a job site/ employer and shadow an individual in the community to learn more about the day-to-day job experience. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these job shadowing days to help determine their career fields of interest.
