Course Description

This course includes the physiological changes of pregnancy, disease conditions relating to pregnancy and the reproductive organs, tests to detect physical conditions (both physiological and pathological), fetal diagnosis, maternal metabolic disorders, and postpartum testing. Case studies will hone the midwives understanding of screening and diagnostic tests and appropriate management plans for the scope of the Certified Professional Midwife (Midwives College of Utah, 2021).

Prerequisites: MDWF 2010 and in a current clinical placement - completed Winter 2020 Term and in a current clinical placement
