This workshop will focus on plants within the Poaceae (grass family). The workshop will take place at Eagle Creek Park, 7840 W. 56th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Through this workshop, some of the topics you will learn include:
what makes a grass different from a sedge (Cyperaceae) and a rush (Juncaceae)
the anatomy and terminology of grass
distinguishing between species and genera
how to collect and key grasses
how to use a dichotomous key in figuring out what genus/species you have both from pressed specimens and live specimens.
