I am delighted to announce that once again Midlothian schools will have the opportunity to participate in Climate Ready Classrooms this year. This is a wonderful opportunity for schools to explore key sustainability themes in a fun and engaging way. This year it will take place on 8th February February and all the information and link to register is below:
The link for schools to register is: Midlothian Climate Ready Classrooms (CRC) Primary registration form - 8 February 2027.
Climate Ready Classrooms for primary schools is a series of free workshops and activities, delivered on a local authority basis. By taking part, pupils will gain an understanding of the climate emergency and biodiversity crisis and take action to address these issues.
The course consists of three online workshops delivered by Keep Scotland Beautiful over one day, with in class, teacher-led activities scheduled after each workshop. All resources and templates are made available in advance.
Teachers are invited to attend a CLPL session ahead of the pupil workshops to learn the details of what their pupils will be taught, how to deliver the in class activities and how to take learning further.
This course is an engaging way for schools to meet the requirements of the Scottish Government’s Learning for Sustainability Action Plan, incorporating sustainability education, global citizenship and outdoor learning.
