FTC Competition

2023-24 Season Update

One big change is the Texas - West & Panhandle Regional Championship will now be called the FiT - West & Panhandle Area Championship. This is because FTC in the state of Texas is now one region, split up into different areas. The State Championship from last year will now be the regional championship, but FiT is still going to call it the state championship. With this in mind, for the rest of this email and season, I will be referring to our regional championship as the area championship

New this season, we will be hosting an FTC Daul Division Area Championship on February 17th at Lubbock-Cooper Liberty High School.

What does this mean?

This means that we will be inviting 48 teams this season to the area championship, instead of the usual 36. There will also be four fields, possibly six, with the teams being split up into two divisions, The winners of each division will compete against each other for the finals. Teams who advance from this event will be invited to compete at the state and/or UIL championship on March 20th - March 23rd at the Cadence Bank Center in Belton Texas

FIRST® Tech Challenge (ages 12-18) encourages teams to design, build, program, and engage in thrilling robotics competitions. Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of innovation and teamwork. The reusable robot kit can be coded using a variety of programming languages. With Gracious Professionalism®, students are encouraged to create team identities and be an ambassador for FIRST and STEM in their communities.

In the CENTERSTAGE℠ presented by Raytheon Technologies challenge, debuting September 9, 2023, FIRST Tech Challenge teams will raise the curtain on the power of design, creativity, and precision to create all new experiences.
