Discuss the meaning of Human Performance Technology and how it is related to the field of Instructional Design with your peers
Human Performance Technology (HPt) is a systematic approach to enhance performance analysis to identify performance gaps, produce appropriate interventions, implement an intervention plan and evaluate results to identify where to make improvements. HPt interventions are designed to address the root causes of performance problems and improve human performance within an organization. HPt improvement strategy and analysis is tailored to the specific needs and its employees and is refined to ensure the appropriate outcome.
Instructional designers use strategies similar to HPt to assess outcome, help the learner to retain knowledge, and improve relearning. Through means of design, analysis, development, implementation and evaluation an instructional designer could develop a valuable, meaningful, lesson, where data could be assessed to improve performance outcome.
