Post Secondary Visits
We encourage students to begin taking college, apprenticeship, and workplace visits as soon as possible. Students may take a maximum of 3 visits each school year.
Students who are in need of Post-Secondary visit form should visit their counselor.
Colleges and universities will also be visiting MHS. These visits are available to our senior students. Interested students should check their class's Google Classroom for a calendar of schools which are visiting.
Military
Military recruiters have scheduled times in the Commons during the lunches for students to gain more information about enlistment and opportunities. The ASVAB is offered each Fall and Spring at MHS. Interested students should look for a sign-up form posted in their Google Classroom of their graduation year.
College Applications
Students will begin applying to colleges during their senior year. The counselors meet with seniors during September to outline the college application process. All college applications are now submitted online. Any student who has a question about applying to college should visit their counselor.

Financial Aid
Each year the Counseling Department holds a meeting in the Fall to help parents navigate the sometimes confusing world of financial aid. A representative from Sinclair College speaks generally about financial aid opportunities and how to access them at all colleges and universities. During the Financial Aid meeting, the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) will be discussed.
The FASFA is a form required by all colleges and universities in order to access financial aid. The first step is to create a FSA ID.
An informational presentation will be held on Oct. 9, 2025 at 6 pm in the Commons. Information from the meeting is posted in the Google Class of 2026.
