Based in the Department of Family Science & Social Work and founded by Dr. Carly Kimiecik, SPARC! has already made an impact on Miami University, the greater Oxford Community, and the field of sport social work.
SPARC! is currently focusing on projects related to student-athlete well-being in addition to Recess for Champions.
SPARC! is committed to evidence-based, interprofessional work. Through collaboration, SPARC! seeks to provide learning opportunities to Miami students through impactful research and programming. SPARC! uses research, connection, and outreach for a positive community impact.
SPARC! has worked with partners across campus, including but not limited to, Miami University Athletics, the Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, & Health, and the Department of Speech Pathology & Audiology.
