420 discernible vocalizations were notated from 148 minutes of recordings.
Vocalizations most often included chirps followed by trills, screams, and alarm barks.
Most vocal exchanges included 2-3 individuals but up to 7 individuals could be observed participating.
Distribution of inter-call durations between two successive calls from different callers. The thin horizontal black line represents the baseline of inter-call durations. The gray arrow corresponds to the threshold (i.e., the maximum response delay for defining a vocal exchange), and was placed at the location where inter-call delays start rising above the baseline.
Out of the 420 vocalizations isolated, 56% had at least two callers that could be heard within 10 s of each other.
Of these exchanges (n= 236), 87.2% met the baseline threshold of 2500 ms.
On average, the inter-call duration between woolly monkey callers was 791.85 ms ± 521.87 ms.
