I choose to interact with the world in such a way that I always look for new ways to interpret what I find, forever making the choice to be inspired. Throughout my portfolio, I explain how mediums and ideas influence my art and my perception of creativity. I explain how I draw inspiration from the world and from myself and dive into the ways that I use art to express that inspiration. In my collage I include that origin of inspiration with photos of nature, people, animals, and homes, as all these ideas are enduring while continually inspiring to me through seasons of life. I want to be a more developed and professional artist, but I see no future in which the things that inspire me today won’t also inspire me tomorrow. How could I ever draw near the end of my exploration of life? Of living things and how we live together? The artist who I aspire to be is not totally different from who I am right now. She has the same curious heartbeat, but now she knows who and what exactly it beats for.
Throughout this first semester, I've had so many opportunities to grow myself, both as an artist and as an individual. I'm very happy with my portfolio, and while I know that I still have a long way to go, my portfolio today shows the best of who I am. The work, inspiration, reflections, and feedback I've gotten throughout this first semester have been invaluable for further defining my experience as an artist. I can't wait to learn more next semester, and I look forward to continuing to challenge myself!
