I'm a first-year Interior Design major at Miami University. I'm also a part of the Honors College at Miami, which will allow me to travel abroad for my studies, and is one of the opportunities I'm looking forward to. I have a more traditional background in the arts, rather than anything focused on Architecture or Interior Design. However, this means that I'll be able to bring a different sort of vision to projects, since I'll be considering both the foundational artistic and design factors in any given situation. I have a good eye for colors and contrast, and I'm looking forward to translating those skills into situations that need something brand new.
While I've taken several art classes during high school, and even done some freelance work, I also have an extensive musical background. I've been playing the trumpet since I was 11, and I picked up bass guitar when I was 14. I've really enjoyed playing both instruments, and was heavily involved with both my Marching Band, Jazz Band, and with my church worship team.
My music background has given me experience in blending my style with a group of people; whether that be fellow musicians, artists, or designers. I love challenging myself to see how I can work with a group to make our final product more engaging through its sights, sounds, or feel. I really do believe that it's to small details that can make or break an experience.
I hope that by continuing my education, I will be able to use my skills in such a way that I can make any group I am a part of better, no matter the type. I aspire to be a positive presence in any class, project, band, or production that I join.
