All students are capable of learning the skills necessary to be quality musicians when instructed in a safe environment with the proper teaching tools
Learning is a lifelong endeavor
Talent is not the only factor determining a musicians success
Each student is unique, and may require different teaching tools
2. Quality music education fosters skills in other areas such as communication, leadership and social emotional learning
Students in music classes acquire listening and communication skills
Student ownership and leadership is both learned and a necessity for success
Students find lifelong friendships and mentors through music classes and ensembles
3. Caring for my students as individuals and fostering relationships with them leads to better overall educational outcomes
When my students know I care, they are more receptive and have more positive interactions
It is easier to maintain higher standards when students know you care
Creating a positive experience with music and music classes is enhanced by care
Caring for students is central to successful teaching
