During my time here at Miami I have taken advantage of the many opportunities available to me. I have been apart of a diverse group of ensembles including the wind ensemble, symphony orchestra, chamber singers mixed choir, marching band, trumpet ensemble, trumpet quartet and the steel pan band.

I have also participated in a variety of solo opportunities, being a past winner of the Undergrad Artist Competition as well as a finalist in the Concerto Competition.

Miami has also provided me with a variety of field experiences ranging from teaching kindergarten at Kramer Elementary to regularly teaching a full class period at Hamilton High School. The faculty here have helped me grow as a musician and also develop my teaching skills and philosophy of education.

I have also gained experience teaching, through marching band and indoor winds at Colerain High School and Lakota West High School.

At my time with Colerain I saw the band begin to grow from 40 to 60 members. I spent majority of my time building quality habits and instilling self discipline in the students in order to improve their success. The Colerain Indoor Winds group was even the Class A Champion in the MEPA circuit.

While at Lakota West High School I was on staff with the band of over 200 students. I assisted in the instruction of brass pedagogy primarily, but assisted in visual performance of all members and also administrative tasks before and after rehearsals. While with Lakota West, they were the St. Obetz BOA Regional Champions for the third time, with their highest score at Obetz ever. As well as finalists at the Indianapolis BOA Super Regional for the first time in school history.
