About Us
The Morris Hills Regional District is comprised of two high schools for students in grades 9-12: Morris Hills High School, located in Rockaway Borough, and Morris Knolls High School, located in Denville. The district serves the communities of Denville, Rockaway Borough, Rockaway Township, and Wharton. Students who are domiciled in one of these four communities will attend either Morris Hills or Morris Knolls based on their exact address. The district also accepts a limited number of students from outside these four communities through the Governor's School Choice Program and serves as a satellite campus for two programs in partnership with the Morris County Vocational-Technical School District: The Academy for Math, Science, and Engineering, housed at Morris Hills High School, and The Academy for the Performing Arts, housed at Morris Knolls High School.
Morris Hills and Morris Knolls are comprehensive high schools that offer over 200 courses in both academic and vocational areas. With 27 honors courses, 27 AP courses, a full array of special education and ELL services, a robust Gifted and Talented Program, specialty programs such as the Magnet Program, AVID Program, 27 varsity sports, and hundreds of clubs and activities, our high schools offer students quality programming in a diverse and nurturing environment.
Please note that Morris Hills Regional often starts the school year before Labor Day to ensure that our students can complete the school year in time to participate in summer programs, college orientation programs for graduating seniors, etc. In addition, starting before Labor Day allows students in AP and IB classes more instructional time beforethe May exams.
