There are many options for high school. If you are an in-district resident, and you are interested in schools other than Morris Hills or Morris Knolls, you should still register with our district so that you have access to other potential services such as transportation,aid-in-lieu of transportation, or vocational school tuition. Below are some brief descriptions of some other public options for high school.
MCVTS is a countywide school system that offers full-time academy programs at no cost to families on its Denville campus, as well as on satellite campuses at other area high schools. Click on the District name above to see all available options, including the Academy for Math, Science, and Engineering and the Academy for the Performing Arts (these are housed at MHRD but are actually MCVTS programs).
The Governor's School Choice Program allows a limited number of students in New Jersey to attend public schools in other communities at no cost to families. Applications are typically due before December 1st of the school year prior to student entry. Participating districts and additional information can be found here.
Please note that the Governor's School Choice Program at MHRD is either for out-of-district students who wish to attend Morris Hills or Morris Knolls, or for in-district students who wish to attend a participating public school other than Morris Hills or Morris Knolls.
For in-district residents who wish to switch high schools (from Hills to Knolls or Knolls to Hills), please see our In-District Lottery page.
