Meets

Athlete Information

Middle school track and field meets start with field events at 4:15.

Running events typically start 15 minutes after field events begin (4:30).

The order of events is listed below. Running events will always be contested in the same order. The field events may be reversed from what is listed below, but that is the normal order. Athletes should listen for announcements at the track for first call, second call and final call for events. It is best to report to event check in at the first call.

If you are on the lineup for both a field event and a running event, you may try to complete your field event first. Note that you are allowed to leave the field event to participate in a running event, then return to complete your field event. If you have questions, ask a coach or an official for help!

Spectator Information

Refer to the order of events above. Meets begin at 4:15. It is nearly impossible to determine the time that your athlete will be participating in an event due to the number of athletes, heats and duration of prior events. If you want to be sure you see your athlete, arrive at 4:10 and stay until the conclusion of your athlete's event.

Athletes are required to ride with their team to the host school and return on the bus to the Middle School after the conclusion of the meet. Athletes are permitted to ride home with a parent or guardian upon completion of the parent release form, provided that is arranged in advance. The following is an excerpt from the MS Co-Curricular Handbook.
