George Washington was born on February 22, 1732 to Mary Ball Washington and Augustine Washington. In 1734, his family moved a house near the Potomac River, which would later be known as Mount Vernon. In 1738, his family moved yet again to Frederick, Virginia. At age 11, he inherited 10 slaves from his father, which George would use for farming. At age 16, he copied down 110 rules for behavior.
As a young adult, George Washington was a surveyor. He became a surveyor in 1749. Later, at age 21, he was sent to send a message to the French in the year 1753.
George Washington fought in the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War.
In The French And Indian War, George Washington was commander and leader for all of Virginia's troops. Also in the French and Indian War, four horses were shot and killed from underneath him.
In The Revolutionary War, George Washington led the Continental Army, and led the Virginia militia. In Valley Forge, there is a fable that George Washington went off into the woods and prayed to God to help his troops.
The first time George Washington ran for the House of Burgesses, he lost. But later, in 1789, Washington was elected with no competition. On April 30th, 1789, George Washington was inaugurated in New York. He won the second election on March 4th, 1793. He retired on March 4th, 1797.
George Washington's diary
The picture to the left is a picture of a page of George Washington's diary. In the same diary that this picture was taken off, George Washington wrote to John Hancock in his diary about the battle of Trenton, "We were drawn up on the other side of the Creek. In this situation we remained till dark, cannonading the Enemy & receiving the fire of their Field pieces which did us but little damage."

George Washington died on December 14th, 1799, around 10 or 11 pm, of a throat infection. He was naturally afraid of being buried alive, so he asked the people around him not to bury him until three days after he died. On December 18th, 1799, George Washington was laid in his casket and his funeral was held.
Interesting Facts
He had over 50 dogs in his lifetime
His teeth weren't made of wood. George Washington soaked them in wine, and this form of treatment left them looking like they were made of wood.
