Honor Roll and Academic Awards

Grade Point Averages (GPA’s) for first and third quarter and each semester determine eligibility for Honor Roll. A minimum GPA of 3.3 is required to be on the Honor Roll and a minimum GPA of 3.6 is required for the High Honor Roll. Any student receiving an “F” in any quarter or semester is ineligible for either Honor Roll. In order to qualify for any academic awards or scholarships you must be enrolled at Monona Grove High School for the two previous semesters prior to the awards being determined.

Students have the opportunity to be recognized for maintaining a high GPA at the Academic Awards Banquet in the fall. Students earn points for each semester for earning the following GPA’s:

3.0 - 3.49 = 1 point

3.5 – 3.74 = 2 points

3.75 – 4.0 = 3 points

When students accumulate a certain number of points, they become eligible for the following recognitions:

Certificate of merit = 6 points

Academic letter = 12 points

Academic pin = 18 points

Name engraved on plaque = 21 points
