My project explores if a significant relationship exists between colors, attitudes and skill that individuals attributed to common school subjects. These relationships are explored through examination of data obtained via a researcher-created, anonymous survey submitted by students across Messiah University's campus.

The CDC reports, 64% of adults report experiencing at least one adverse childhood experience before the age of 18 (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2023). Previous research has revealed that the presence of ACEs can negatively impact an individual's view of God, and religious social support can contribute to a positive view of God. Methodology: Participants were 35 undergraduate students recruited from multiple sources at Messiah University. Researchers recruited students from Messiah University’s Psychology 101 courses, ministry clubs, and through convenience sampling. Results: Dimensions on Religious Support-Long Form had significant positive and negative correlations with subscales of the God-Image Inventory. Total number of ACEs and specific categories of ACEs had significant negative correlation with the ‘Presence’ & ‘Acceptance’ subscales of the God-Image Inventory. Total number of ACEs had significant positive correlation with three of the four subscales from the Religious Support-Long Form. Conclusion: These findings are relevant to religious communities with members who have experienced a high incidence of ACEs. Such communities can use the results of this study to better understand how individuals seek support to cope with the impact of ACEs on their image of God and the importance of communal support for traumatized individuals.
