The beginning band program at Kimbrough Middle School is the foundation for the entire band program. Beginning band is structured to teach each student the fundamental music skills required to be successful on their instrument.

During the school year, the Kimbrough Middle School Beginning Band focuses on developing a characteristic tone quality. We begin from step one by learning how to have proper posture, read notes and rhythms, and hold the instrument. Beginning Band is used as an opportunity to teach all students the fundamental skills to play their instruments and prepare them for their first full band experience. 

Beginning Band has multiple performances, including our Winter Concert, Spring Concert, and Spring Festival Trip to the BLBDA Festival.
