Class procedures During Physical Education

• 1. Enter the main gymnasium and sit in your assigned squad position for class attendance.

  2. After arriving, attendance will be taken and student preparation will be recorded. (For the purposes of good hygiene, students are REQUIRED to change out of their school clothing and into separate activity clothing during Physical Education. Each student will be assigned their own gym locker to use for storage during the class period.) 

     1. • Athletic sneakers MUST be worn and tied properly in order to participate during activity 

        • Jewelry, watches or other loose fitting personal items MUST be removed and stored in gym lockers

        • As per district policy #5516: cell phones, smart watches and air pods are NOT PERMITTED during the school day and must be OFF and AWAY in school lockers. (Students caught with any of those devices will have it confiscated and it will be turned into the main office)

        • Long hair must be secured with clip or tied back for the duration of the class period

        •  Students are expected to use the bathrooms located in the locker rooms at the beginning of the period, or upon returning to the locker room at the end of the class period. With the exception of an emergency, students will not be able to return to the building once class has exited outside of the building for activity.   

  3. P.E. activities may take place INSIDE or OUTSIDE, depending on weather conditions and the activity that will be taking place, therefore clothes worn for activity should account for that circumstance.

  4. Listen attentively to all instructions and directions provided for activity. (disruptive behavior / talking when the teacher is speaking will negatively impact a student's daily PE grade)

  5. Participate fully, and safely, in class activities throughout the duration of the period. 

  6. At the close of activity, assist the teacher with collecting any equipment that was used during the class period, if necessary.

  7. Return to the locker room after being dismissed by teacher from activity, change back into school clothing, and collect any belongings from the locker. 

  8. Return to your squad location and be seated. 

  9. Listen to final instructions or directions provided by the teacher.

  10. Move quickly to your next class, after being dismissed.
