Background
We applied for this project to address the growing need for innovative, ethical, and effective educational integration of digital tools, such as AI. Teachers required practical guidance to use AI responsibly in classrooms, while students needed opportunities to build digital competencies and prepare for the demands of Industry 4.0. Additionally, we sought to strengthen collaboration among partner schools to share best practices, exchange knowledge, and create resources that could benefit educators and learners across Europe. This project aimed to equip teachers and students with the skills and resources necessary to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by AI in education.
Objectives
The project's primary objective was to enhance teaching and learning by integrating AI tools while ensuring their ethical use. We aimed to equip teachers with practical knowledge and resources to incorporate AI chatbots into their teaching practices. For students, the goal was to improve their digital literacy, critical thinking, and teamwork skills through hands-on activities. The project also sought to foster intercultural collaboration among participants, promote ethical technology use, and create open-access resources that could support education beyond the partnership.
Implementation
The project included a series of training activities (TA1-TA4) that focused on ethical AI use, chatbot development, and applications for Industry 4.0. Teachers and students collaborated in mixed international teams to create AI-based tools such as personality tests, chatbots for homework assistance, and job interview simulations. Regular meetings and discussions ensured continuous improvement of project outputs. Dissemination efforts included creating a project website, publishing press releases, engaging with regional media, and presenting results during events like #ErasmusDays. These activities fostered collaboration and ensured the project outputs addressed the identified needs.
Results
The project produced several impactful outcomes, including ethical AI guidelines, videos of chatbot development, personality test results, and job interview simulation videos. Teachers gained valuable skills in integrating AI into their teaching, while students developed critical digital competencies and intercultural understanding. Open-access resources were available on the project website and the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform, ensuring long-term accessibility and impact. The project has left a lasting legacy for teachers, students, and the broader educational community by fostering collaboration, innovation, and ethical technology use.
