Every person has different things that they believe are the most important things in their lives. For some it is family members, friends, or loved ones; for others it is pets, or other animals on their farm; and for some it is the activities or the sports that they participate in.

Originally in this project I wanted to capture a day in the life of different people to see how it varied, however after some shooting I realized that I was shooting more of the things that are important to people and less of each part of their day. Throughout this project I realized how different each person was with their favorite things even if they seem like very similar people. It was very interesting to see how people acted around their pets or animals as opposed to their families or friends. It was also interesting to see how those peoples interactions were different from someone whose most important thing was an activity because they weren’t interacting with an animate object.

The first person that I took pictures of was my friend Fiona who loves music especially singing and playing the piano and ukulele as well as doing her makeup and dancing. I made sure I got pictures of her playing the piano because she has one at her house and plays it almost every day, I also made sure to take pictures of her doing her makeup as well because it is an activity she loves a lot and values.

The next person that I took pictures of was my friend Nicki because she has a miniature farm in her backyard as well as multiple regular pets and they are very important to her, also everyday she has to feed some of the animals and take the dogs on a walk. I got pictures of her goats who loved the camera and being the center of attention, I also got pictures of her with her dogs and cat because she spends all of her time at home with them because they are allowed inside and outside but the goats, chickens, and the bunny live outside year round.

Lastly I shot my neighbor and lifelong friend Maddie with her dogs and her best friend, our other neighbor, as well as her family because they all mean the world to her. I made sure to capture her being goofy with the dogs because that's how they are as well as her giving her dogs love and just interacting with them. I also made sure to capture her with her best friend because they are literally inseparable and they just have such a special relationship and Maddie wouldn’t be herself without her best friend who is basically family.
