Information on Homework

when? Homework is assigned Monday-Thursday. I will send home a math worksheet packet on Mondays and it should be returned each Friday.

Why? Homework reinforces classroom learning and the importance of good work habits. It will always be a review of previously taught concepts.

Here is what you can expect your child to complete on a weekly basis:

• 1 math worksheet each night, 5 minutes of math fact fluency practice

• Read for 20-30 minutes. Optional reading log

Here are some homework tips:

• Create a work space free of distractions to show that homework is important.

• Establish a routine homework time.

• Have your child show you the assignments.

• Listen to your child explain the directions and provide guidance as needed.

• Support the choice of a challenging book by taking turns reading.
