Each month we have a "trait of the month". We engage in SEL lessons during morning meeting, through class discussions, read alouds, and activities. Our latest read aloud was, Each Kindness.
Read Aloud Description: Each Kindess by Jacgueline Woodson
"Chole and her friends shun the new girl, Maya, who eventually stops coming to school. When Chloe's teacher gives a lesson about how even small acts of kindness can change the world, Chloe realizes how much better it could have been if she'd shown a little kindness towards Maya. With its powerful anti-bullying message, the book will resonate with listeners."

September: Friendship
October: Empathy
