Apex is primarily a self-paced and independent program; however, students also need to complete their classes by the end of the semester. Therefore, we provide sample schedules, recommended pacing guides, and suggested due dates to keep students on track.
To remain on track to complete all Apex classes by the end of the semester, students should plan to work on each class for approximately 45 mins each day.
There are 18 weeks in the semester. It takes approximately 2-3 weeks to complete an Apex unit. There are around six (6) units for most courses.
Apex measures progress by percentage. To remain on track, students should be making about 6% progress each week in all of their courses.
A variety of online sessions are offered throughout the week to provide students layers of academic, social, and emotional support as they navigate the online learning environment.
The only sessions required are homeroom meetings and sessions that students are asked to attend by their homeroom teacher. Students might be referred to a session if it becomes evident to the homeroom teacher that the student needs some additional support to be successful.
