Health Grade 9
This course is designed to enhance students’ coping and decision-making skills utilizing selected health topics and issues, such as healthy life styles, drug related problems, abstinence education and relationship issues as well as stress management and the promotion of self-esteem. Course content is practical and relates to the life styles of students. Students will not only learn facts, but also concepts where new information may be processed that will become a part of their decisions to be healthy. In America today, health is considered a basic right of every citizen, not a privilege. This right can only be fulfilled through directing students toward greater self-responsibility in terms of their own healthy behavior and choices.
