Course Overview:
This intermediate-level course builds upon foundational art concepts, techniques, and historical perspectives introduced in Art 1. Emphasizing intermediate techniques and creative projects, this course aims to deepen students' understanding and mastery across diverse art forms. Each quarter includes several intermediate sketchbook assignments and a few major projects, fostering a thorough exploration of artistic expression and skill development.
Course Description:
Embark on a deeper artistic journey with our High School Visual Art - Art 2 course. Spanning one year, this intermediate course dives into more advanced techniques and projects, enhancing your artistic abilities and creative thinking. You'll refine your skills in drawing, painting, and printmaking, and explore new realms such as sculpture and textile art. Art history studies will continue to illuminate influential movements and artists, while intermediate portfolio development will prepare you for future artistic endeavors. Collaborative projects, exhibitions, and critiques will further enrich your artistic growth. With eight intermediate assignments, including complex projects on design, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and textile art, you'll elevate your creative potential and continue your transformative artistic exploration.
