I've been a social studies teacher for more than half of my life, and I love my career as an educator. Studying social science helps me make sense of the world around me. Immersion in founding documents has taught me about leadership and stewardship. I have loved the European trips I have been able to take with students and colleagues (Ms Dillon is my travel buddy) for the perspective they have given me on history and geography. Economics (the study of scarcity) has taught me about cooperation and competition.
My graduate work in literacy has trained me to focus classroom activities around reading and writing, speaking and listening, and observing and presenting.
My goal is to be one of the team members that helps you to identify your interests and puts you on the path to pursuing your goals.
Closer to home, I have a fabulous husband and two amazing grown children, an adorable Doodle and a very bossy cat. You don't have to hang around me for long to hear about some of our adventures.
Besides my family and experiential education, I love my little house near the Bio Lab and my very old farmhouse/camp across the bay, travel, knitting and reading, probably in that order.
I look forward to knowing you, working with you, and finding out what matters to you.
