Remote teaching/learning refers to all teaching/learning activities that occur remotely outside of a traditional classroom environment. The teacher and/or the source of information and the learner are separated by time and/or distance i.e. lessons are conducted online, and online tools and platforms are commonly used to transfer the information. Students mostly access educational resources online, receive their lessons online, take their tests online, and submit their assignments online.

Synchronous teaching/learning activities happen in real time with a teacher.
Asynchronous teaching/learning activities are performed through prepared resources, without real-time teacher interaction.
A mixture of both.
Blended teaching/learning combines classroom teaching with online learning activities. Learners follow classroom activities and complete some tasks in different virtual learning environments e.g. Moodle, Google Classroom, etc.
Hybrid teaching/learning is a method of education where some students participate in person and others online. Using technology like video conferencing, teachers can educate both in-person and distant students in the same session.
