The Montrose Recreation District is looking for volunteers to help on race day. It is a great opportunity for high school students to get out into the community and support the Montrose Recreation District's Adaptive Sports Program. We are asking for volunteers to meet at the MRD Field House (Address: 25 Colorado Ave, Montrose, CO 81401) at 1:00 pm on race day. The race is scheduled to be completed by 4:00 pm, and they will have awards and a wrap-up immediately after.
📍 What it is: Montrose’s first adventure/scavenger hunt-style race, now in its 10th year! Teams of four solve clues to travel across town, completing fun challenges at 10–15 different locations. The challenges could be physical or mental. Examples: Teams have had to identify two examples for a list of invasive plant species as a mental challenge. An example of a physical challenge participants have completed is a mini obstacle course.
🎯 Why we do it: The race raises money for the Adaptive Biking Program through Montrose Recreation District, helping individuals with disabilities experience the joy and freedom of cycling.
🏃 Who can participate: Anyone! Teams are made up of friends, family, coworkers, or community members. It’s designed to be fun and accessible — no prior racing experience needed. We have general teams, unified teams (individuals with disabilities working with individuals without disabilities), and adaptive teams (fully comprised of individuals with disabilities)
🕒 Race day: October 25, 2025. Time: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. The race starts and finishes at the Montrose Field House.
💙 Impact: Every sponsorship and registration fee goes directly toward adaptive bikes and programming that make recreation inclusive for all.
If caregivers or staff have specific questions, feel free to send them my way, or they can visit www.amazingracemontrose.com for details. Our flyer is attached.
Thanks again for being such a great partner in making this event successful!
