Finding Placements

Basic Guidelines

• Internship are not guaranteed

• It is ultimately the responsibly of an intern to secure a placement

• Internship teacher / coordinator will support students in locating opportunities

• Many opportunities will require an interview

• Best placements come from personal connections. This often opens doors for students.

• Students with industry certifications (CCMA, AutoCAD, etc) and students who are bilingual, especially Spanish speaking,  may have specific opportunities available

• Check your email regularly for communication with the internship teacher / coordinating regarding both general & specific opportunities

• Ideally school year interns will have their internships secured during summer; however, students will also be given support the first few weeks of school to help them secure placements

• Summer Interns - There are specific summer application opportunities, especially in STEM fields.
