Farmers

A major reason the colonists left England was to make a better life for themself in the New World. To do this, colonists took advantage of the natural resources and climate in St. Mary's City. Farming was a big part of economic trade...including farming tobacco! Tour some of the farms found in St. Mary's City to learn about life on a tobacco plantation.
