I’m originally from New York City, and this is my second year here at RCF. I’ve been working with children for over 10 years in all kinds of settings like, juvenile detention, children’s sports, foster care, and charter schools. Each experience has taught me something new about how to support and connect with kids from all walks of life. As your school counselor, my goal is to make sure every student feels safe, supported, and confident to be themselves. I love working with families, teachers, and our amazing community to help students grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and my sweet dog, Leo, who always keeps life fun and full of energy. I’m so excited for another year of learning, laughter, and building strong relationships at RCF!
I'm Colleen Smith. Born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. I earned my Education degree at the University of Maryland, College Park. In 2005, I earned my Masters in School Counseling at John Hopkins University. I love being around kids. I love to help kids learn and explore social relationships. My favorite aspect to my job is helping kids become comfortable with and build a stronger sense of self. Outside of school, most of my time is spent taxing my two teens to softball, lacrosse, football, wrestling, and swimming. I love cooking with my husband, baking with my daughter, and being on the beach. I'm excited to be at RCF and look forward to developing new relationships with both our staff and our families.
