The Advanced Music Signature Program:
Four (4) Performance Courses, semester grades of B or higher in all classes.
OR
Four (4) General Music Courses, semester grades of B or higher in all classes.
OR
Four (4) Performance/General Music Courses Combined, semester grades of B or higher in all classes.
AP Music Theory, semester grades of B or higher in all classes, students are highly encouraged to take the AP exam.

Beginning Orchestra
Course Code: ART2096A / B
This course is great if you have never played a string instrument before. You will learn how to hold the instrument, produce a characteristic sound and read standard musical notation. Instruments available are violin, viola, cello and bass.

Beginning Orchestra

Este curso es fantástico si nunca antes has tocado un instrumento de cuerda. Aprenderá a sostener el instrumento, producir un sonido característico y leer notación musical estándar. Los instrumentos disponibles son violín, viola, violonchelo y bajo.

Concert Orchestra

This class is for those who already know how to hold and play a string instrument as well as proficiently read standard musical notation. The focus on this class is refine individual playing techniques, learn more advanced techniques like shifting and vibrato as well as develop ensemble skills. This ensemble gives 2 concerts a year, after school.

This class is not all about learning music and working hard, but it’s also about learning how to communicate and unite with each other.”

Esta clase es para aquellos que ya saben cómo sostener y tocar un instrumento de cuerda, así como leer con soltura la notación musical estándar. El enfoque de esta clase es refinar las técnicas de interpretación individuales, aprender técnicas más avanzadas como cambios y vibrato, así como desarrollar habilidades de conjunto. Este conjunto ofrece 2 conciertos al año, después de la escuela.

Symphonic Orchestra
Course Code: ART2099A / B, Prerequisite: by Audition or Teacher Approval
This is a class is for those who already are advanced at reading and playing music at a high level of proficiency and have multiple years experience on their string instrument. The focus in this class is advanced ensemble playing and challenging music. This ensemble performs several times during the school year, both in and out of school.

Esta es una clase para aquellos que ya tienen un nivel avanzado en lectura y interpretación musical con un alto nivel de competencia y tienen varios años de experiencia en su instrumento de cuerda. El enfoque en esta clase es tocar en conjunto avanzado y música desafiante. Este conjunto se presenta varias veces durante el año escolar, tanto dentro como fuera de la escuela.
