Academic Team

Meeting twice a month on Fridays and twice a month on Mondays, Academic team teaches cadets to retain information and gives them oppertunities to utilize their knowledge on Naval Science, American history, Current events and much more! Outstanding cadets get to compete in Brain Brawls, a quick and fast paced academic competition in teams of 4. ALL members are tested at participating drill competitions, academic is the most heavily scored event in every drill competition. ALL members are required to take the National Academic Exam, a NJROTC based knowledge test that evaluates the preformance of the team as a whole. Select cadets will be chosen based on test scores to participate in JLAB, a test similar to the SAT that is taken by a team of 4. Cadets will impove their teamwork, test taking, and  communication skills throught the year while also broadening their knowledge and intellectual abilities.
