Whether you’re Team Condrad or Team Jeremiah, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” has captured the hearts of many, especially teens. When the first season premiered on Prime Video in 2022, audiences were introduced to the upbeat and lovable Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) and two brothers, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), at war for her love. This isn’t just another teen drama — “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is a cultural phenomenon whose influence has extended past our screens and into our everyday lives.  

At a time when edgy teen dramas like “Euphoria” and “Never Have I Ever” have taken over young adult TV shows, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is a breath of fresh air. Writer Jenny Han explores classic themes of love, loss, heartbreak, and friendship in the nostalgic setting of a North Carolina beach house. One of the most notable aspects of the show is the soundtrack. Popular artists such as Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Radiohead have been featured throughout the series.
