Einstein High School welcomes a new college career coordinator, Edgar Trigo, who is ready and willing to guide  students to success and the best version of themselves.

The College/Career Center has been a resource at Einstein for many years, providing different services for students of all grade levels. As the newly appointed coordinator, Trigo has taken on many daily responsibilities and duties, such as researching colleges with students and figuring out possible paths of study, the application process, scholarships, and financial aid. Not only does he play a crucial role in  helping students, but also for parents he often has to stay in touch with. In addition to this, coordinates any upcoming events at Einstein like financial aid seminars. .

As a team, both Trigo and the counselors work closely due to time restrictions that prevent him from meeting every student at once. Knowing the limits of time his job has, Trigo attempts to improve his time and input, highlighting the crucial role of counselors in performing their responsibilities.

His main objective revolves around guiding students in finding out their future professions, aiding them in completing their goals by helping them in the college application process, helping navigate the financial aid and scholarship process, and guaranteeing a successful graduation. His help goes beyond achieving higher education, his support extends to helping students explore alternative career pathways, and identifying potential workplaces or opportunities that align with their aspirations.

One of his more significant contributions is establishing financial aid nights and hosting informational sessions, both in person and virtual. Trigo organizes these events, mostly in the evenings, which is crucial, especially with the recent alterations to FAFSA protocols. These events are valuable opportunities where both students and families get to partake in and learn important  information on Financial aid and anything important for future college students.

When asked if he had goals he wanted to achieve at Einstein he replied with: “Anything I want to achieve? Having students know about all scholarships that are available to them which is why I created the college and career center page that has a scholarship list for students to apply for.”
