January 16, 2026On Sep. 9, Apple hosted an event that announced their latest products: AirPods Pro 3, Apple Watch Series 11, iPhone 17/17 Pro, and their newest, iPhone Air.
Starting with AirPods Pro 3, the newest earbuds are said to have “the world’s best in-ear Active Noise Cancellation.” AirPods Pro 3 feature voice isolation and conversation awareness, features that reduce background noise and the volume of music during conversation.
A brand new feature of AirPods Pro 3 is live translation. When in conversation with someone who speaks another language, AirPods Pro 3 can translate entire phrases. The translation also goes both ways, with the AirPods user’s words being displayed on their iPhone as they speak them.
AirPods Pro 3 have also been upgraded to be better suitable as a workout companion. With a new heart rate sensor added to the device, AirPods Pro 3 can track heart rate and calories burned. The earbuds are more water-resistant than previous AirPods, making them secure even through a sweaty workout.
Next up is Apple Watch Series 11. With ceramic coating, the new Apple Watch is more scratch-resistant than previous watches.
The biggest selling point of the device is its new health features, which allow users to learn more about their sleep and heart health. Apple Watch is adding a sleep score feature that provides users with a number each night rating their sleep based on a variety of factors, such as how long they spent in different stages, or if they woke up.
In terms of heart health, Apple Watch Series 11 can notify users of hypertension by tracking high blood pressure patterns.
Apple also announced the release of two more Apple Watches: the Apple Watch SE 3 and the Apple Watch Ultra 3. Apple Watch SE 3 shares similar upgrades to the Apple Watch Series 11, as well as new wrist temperature sensing to inform users of their vitals. Apple Watch Ultra 3, a device designed for athletes, gains a Satellite feature, allowing users to stay connected even when traveling off the grid. This watch will also have the longest battery life of any other to date, lasting 42 hours of normal use.
The event also announced the launch of new iPhone models, the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro. The devices contain similar features, with the pro having a more advanced camera. The new iPhones also contain some of the new features from the other devices, including live translation and a ceramic shield.
The most notable upgrades to these devices are their cameras. Both iPhones have a newly designed camera that allows for better resolution and front cameras with a wider field of view than previous iPhones. The new cameras allow for four different compositions, meaning users don’t have to rotate their phones when wanting to take a landscape photo. The iPhone 17 Pro features eight different camera lenses and an 8x optical-quality zoom, giving it the longest iPhone TelePhoto ever.
The final product revealed was their newest, the iPhone Air.
Being promoted as “the thinnest iPhone ever,” the iPhone is only 5.6 mm deep and 165g, compared to the new iPhone 17 Pro, which is 8.75 mm deep and 204g. While the device features a similar camera upgrade to the iPhone 17, the iPhone Air only has one camera, but it serves as multiple advanced ones, due to its four lenses. Apple continues to use its new ceramic bonding, making the iPhone Air more durable.
Through the upgrade of multiple devices, Apple continues to improve upon its most popular products and introduce new ones to the family.
