January 16, 2026As a senior, it hurts to watch your high school football team get defeated at home countless times. Whether witnessing the 42-28 shocking defeat against Northwood or blowout losses by Paint Branch, Damascus, and Kennedy. Einstein coaches have not been able to make any necessary adjustments.
Einstein currently stands at a weak 2-6 record. Excitement and desperation were high at the start of the season, hoping to once again see Einstein reign as DCC champs like they were in the 2023-2024 season. Despite starting the season 1-0 with a big win against Springbrook, it’s been all downhill since then for the Titans.
Fans and players entered the second week with not much hope for the first home game against Paintbranch, ranked top five in the county. Morale started to fall off after this paintbranch defeat, followed up with losses against Northwood, Blair, and Damascus; the student section was nearly empty by the end of the 63-0 blowout against Damascus on senior night. Students couldn’t bear to watch beatdown after beatdown and felt it was best to leave the stands for good.
On that same note, the Kennedy game altered everyone's views on Einstein football. Watching Einstein trail 36-0 in the first quarter to a DCC opponent led to questioning of the coach's execution of team chemistry and skill training, and there were even a couple of “We want Loftus” chants being thrown around mid-game.
Players in football would practice till 7 p.m., a little late, knowing your practice is ending when a soccer and field hockey match is about to commence. Keeping this in mind, it started to feel that practice was becoming useless, with little to no change. Fans watching the same team continue to struggle with being able to tackle on an opening kickoff, guaranteeing their opponents a touchdown right at kickoff. This did not appear to change or improve over the course of the season. Players miss tackles, draw penalty flags, and get into physical altercations with opponents.
Einstein football has been fully exposed this season, where every team can read the entire team like a children's book. It’s time for the Titans to have a complete overhaul of the program, as it has lost its history of being a competitive team.
