Meet Kevin Afenyo

Kevin Afenyo, Class of 2023

MC2 helped me tough myself up for the college experience workload and interactions, I feel like It gave me a good foundation for improving my learning skills taking risks to learn new subjects and overall help me interact with people since you need to talk a lot with professors and classmates more times than often for situations like group work and class participation, overall it was a good experience even with the struggles and setbacks (like getting a bad grade, almost giving up) I got the courage to keep on going.

What is your advice to current or incoming MC2 students?

You're going to have to trust yourself, but also shoulder responsibility because when you are in this program, there's a lot of things in your own hands to take care of compared to the stuff that you're used to right now.

My favorite/ rewarding experience was taking MC2 art class at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus because the courses were nice and free I was encouraged to think outside the box find the subjects that i enjoy doing as an artists and i got meaningful advice on how to improve my craft and some of my classmates are still in contact with me even though I'm at a different university now in general MC is a really peaceful and friendly place.
