Welcome back, students! 9TH GRADE -- MC2 contracts are due to Mr. Sauter.
Must be a high school student with at least 1 semester completed
Seniors with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.50;
All other students need a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.75
Students also need qualifying test scores:
SAT: 480 on the Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing to take most entry-level classes
SAT: 530 on the Math section in addition to having 480 on the Evidence-based Reading and Writing to take entry-level college math classes
ACT: 21 on the Reading section to take most entry-level classes
ACT: 21 on the Math section in addition to having 21 on the ACT Reading to take entry-level college math classes
IF NO TEST COMPLETED: ACCUPLACER, MC Remote Guided English Placement, and/or ALEKS placement scores

Please note: It typically takes one or two weeks for you to receive your acceptance email/letter, which includes your MyMC ID, MC email, and your MNumber.
Your name and address MUST match with what is on MCPS Synergy to prevent issues. Use your personal email.
You will need your MyMC ID to claim your account. This step involves creating your password, secret questions, and answers for your Montgomery College account.
Go to the MyMC Login portal
Click on "Claim Your Account"
Use your MyMC ID and MNumber (M#) to enter the next step
Create your answers to the Secret Questions. In case you forget your password, you should memorize your answers.
Enter into your MyMC account
You must spare at least 30 minutes to complete your New Student Orientation. You can close and come back to it if needed. There is a lot of good information, so take your time!

Log in to your MyMC portal
Complete and enjoy each module! (and no, you cannot skip through)
Save the Completion Certificate (PDF) at the end of the modules
IMPORTANT: Save the Completion Certificate (PDF) to your Google Drive!
Create a new Note on your phone and title it! Make sure its simple and easy to find!
For example, your Note can look like:

As a high school student, you are not permitted to register yourself for your own MC courses! We use Dual Enroll to make course requests

Note: You must select Northwood Dual Enrollment when asked about your high school.
We want to know what you are interested in taking! Want to get ahead on General Education credits? Just want to experience Computer Science at a college level? We make sure you are eligible and qualified to pursue your courses!
By now, you need to have completed the applications steps above. All requests for MC classes must be done through your DualEnroll account. You should have already spoken to Mr. Sauter or Mr. Angel about which class you would like to take. If not, email michael_t_sauter@mcpsmd.org or mauricio_a_angelbeltran@mcpsmd.org.
You are encouraged to first check MC's live schedule of classes to determine the specific time, format, instructor, location, and registration number for your desired course.
After opening the link:
Under "Search by Term", click on the upcoming semester term that matches your needs. (e.g. Spring 2025). Then, press "Submit"
Under "Subject", scroll to find the course subject you are interested in. Click on the course name and it will highlight in blue. (e.g. ANTH - Anthropology)
Under "Course Number", type the number that comes after the course you are interested in. (e.g. For ANTH 101, type "101" in the box")
OPTIONAL: Are you interested in a specific campus? Under "Campus", click on the campus within your interest. (e.g. Rockville)
Press "Submit", then a full schedule of courses for the semester will show.
Great! Write down or save the Course Registration Number (CRN) for the course. This is a unique number assigned to the course you are interested in.
Open your DualEnroll profile. (montgomerycollege.dualenroll.com)
Under "By Term", select the semester term that the course is in.
Under "By Keyword", enter the course code you want to take (e.g. BIOL 101). Make sure to leave a space between the letters and numbers.
Press "Enter" on your keyboard. The class should appear in blue. Click on it.
On your keyboard CTRL + F to activate the Find tool. You can also scroll through the page to find the course you found.
Press "Request Class" on the right-hand side.
Press "View Current Status" after the pop-up appears.
Refresh your "Status" page until your course request is highlighted in yellow.
Click on "Student: Upload Proof of Orientation"
NEW STUDENTS - Choose File, select the file of your certificate, Press " I have already completed an orientation for a previous semester and have provided documentation to the college", then Complete Step
RETURNING STUDENTS - Select "I have completed an orientation now and am uploading it", then Press Complete Step
Click on "Student: Provide High School Courses"
In the textbox, type the courses you will be enrolled in during the semester that you are requesting.
IF ALL CLASSES AT MC, type "All at MC"
Then, press Complete Step
Parent: Provide Consent
An email was automatically sent to your parents asking for their consent towards you taking Dual Enrollment courses. The link will open Remind your parent to complete it ASAP!
Great, you just requested an MC class! After all steps are completed, your registration will move forward. Our goal is for your request to say "Complete".
As a new JumpStart to College (JSC) student, you can take 1 - 2 Montgomery College courses.
The tuition, textbooks, and certain class material for up to 2 approved courses taken during the Fall and Spring semesters. Winter courses are not covered by MCPS, and students interest in this semester term will need to apply for the Winter grant or pay for the class within their own means.
High school students are not permitted to register for themselves. You may only request courses through DualEnroll, which will seek the approval of your parents, the DEPA, and counselors.
