Consider taking five minutes today to listen to a favorite song without multi-tasking. After listening, consider the following reflection prompts:
What was it like to listen to this song fully without doing anything else?
What memories did this song bring up for you?
What about this song do you enjoy most?
Was there anything you noticed while listening that you hadn't noticed before?
If the sense of hearing is unavailable to you, consider turning up the volume and tuning into the vibrations of the music with the sense of feeling.

Sometimes during a conversation we spend more time preparing for what we will communicate next rather than fully paying attention to what the other person is telling us. Watch this five-minute YouTube video (subtitles/closed captions available) from The Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County (CRCMC) to learn reflective listening strategies today.
Consider how you can incorporate reflective listening skills in writing, email, signing, texting, and other forms of communication.
