The mission of the School Library Media program is to foster an anti-racist and anti-bias information literacy education and ensure equitable access to resources that empower students to develop a love of literature and be successful in college and career. In addition, the Georgian Forest media program encourages a lifelong love of literacy by building a diverse collection of literature that can both reflect the experiences of our scholars and open up new worlds to them.
The vision of the GFES media center is to promote the love of reading and to teach students to be effective producers and consumers of information. At Georgian Forest ES this includes digital citizenship lessons and critical thinking skills that support the diverse academic needs of our students, staff, and the school community.
